There are five key market participants:
1. APX Listees
Entities whose securities are quoted on an APX Board. Listees may typically be organisations who desire a public listing, but:
· Their needs are not met by other public exchanges; &/or
· They do not meet the entry criteria of other public exchanges.
2. Corporate Advisers
Likely to be investment banks and similar organisations, who provide corporate advisory services. They guide and nurture the listee, pre and post listing, in respect of their strategic growth aspirations. (Corporate Advisers participate in the APX listing process, but do not have a formal relationship with APX).
3. APX Brokers
Licenced stockbrokers that:
· Undertake securities trading and transaction settlement responsibilities;
· Advise private and corporate clients on investment portfolio; and
· Capital raising, takeover, reconstruction and underwriting activities.
4. APX Research Panellists
Accredited organisations that provide written opinion (research) of the listee to the market.
5. Investors
Individuals or organisations that buy and/or sell securities quoted on an APX Board, bringing liquidity to the market.
The primary regulatory objective of APX is to ensure that its markets operate in a way that is fair, orderly and transparent.
