James Eric Barr (Chairman, Non Executive Director) 
CA

Mr Barr is a Chartered Accountant who retired as an audit partner of Pricewaterhouse Coopers following 20 years experience as a partner at PwC and predecessor firm, Price Waterhouse. He is a former Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Victoria and a National Councillor. He was previously a Price Waterhouse representative at Urgent Issues Group meetings. Mr Barr has held directorships with various public, private and non-profit companies.

He is currently a non-executive director on the US Board of a US publicly listed company with Australian activities with responsibility as Chairman of the US Audit Committee and the US Conflicts Committee.

 

George Wang (Deputy Chairman, Non Executive Director)

George Wang is the founder and Executive Chairman of AIMS Financial Group (www.aims.com.au), an Australian diversified financial services and investment group with interests in mortgage lending; funds management; securitization; stockbroking; investment banking; and property and high-tech investment in Australia, China and Singapore.
 
Mr Wang is an active participant in both the Australian and Chinese financial services industries. He is the President of the Australia-China Finance & Investment Council. As the President of Australia-China Finance & Investment Council, Mr Wang has been laying the foundation for the financial bridge between Australia and China for many years, closely following the development of the Chinese financial sector, and at the same time building a professional team.  Mr Wang is an appointed advisor for a number of Chinese Government bodies including the position of Deputy President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
 
   

Bill Lam (Independent, Non Executive Director)

Bill is a certified practicing accountant (CPA) with over 30 years of experience. He is also a chartered tax advisor and has worked extensively in Australia and Hong Kong.

He was previously the financial controller of Willis Australia Limited, a company specialising in insurance broking and risk management and has gained valuable experience in business risk management, business interruption management and captive insurance. He presently focusses on taxation, auditing and accounting.

 
  

Peter Gan (Company Secretary)

Peter has previously held CEO or COO roles over the last 15 years in publicly listed companies, private equity and institutional fund companies.

He has led entities across various industries including energy, retailing, manufacturing and private equity in a number of geographical locations, including Australia, US, UK, Netherlands, Ireland, China, Hong Kong and South-East Asia.

 

 

David Lawrence (Company Secretary)

Mr. David Lawrence CCP(Fellow), MComm, BEc (Hons), PgDip Mgmt, Dip ProjMmt has over 25 years’ experience in the development and supervision of  financial securities markets.
 
Mr Lawrence has over 20 years experience in Australian financial markets in a number of Senior Management positions including management of Market Operations, Listed Companies Supervision, Company Announcements, Listing Business Development, Participants Client Relations, Participants Supervision, and Market Surveillance.
 
Prior to joining SSX on a full-time basis in January 2012, Mr Lawrence provided consulting services to Australian stockbrokers, a developing market in China, and SSX. Mr Lawrence has been a speaker at national and international forums relating to financial markets and compliance related issues in New Zealand, Hong Kong, USA, Japan, China and the UK. He was the Australian representative to the international Inter-market Surveillance Group for a number of years.
 
Mr Lawrence was the President of the Australasian Compliance Institute, the peak professional body for over 2500 compliance practitioner members in the Asia Pacific region, for over 8 years until March 2013.
 
 

Tony Sacre (Chief Executive Officer)

Mr. Tony Sacre has over 25 years’ experience within the financial markets and banking sectors. Mr. Sacre has spent significant time working in international financial markets, and brings a substantial degree of experience in transacting with Asian businesses. Mr. Sacre joins us most recently from ANZ, where he was one of the leaders of the International Business Origination function, focusing on creating a financial bridge and framework between Australian and Asian corporates.

Prior his time at ANZ, Mr. Sacre has held senior leadership roles as General Manager at Commonwealth Bank, Head of International Banking at Bank of Sydney and Global Head of Sales at AME Group. Over his career Mr. Sacre has also worked at National Australia Bank, Duke Energy, HSBC New York and JP Morgan. Mr. Sacre has a MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, is a Certified Practicing Accountant, and has a Bachelor of Business from Queensland University of Technology. Mr. Sacre has also lectured in several financial markets subjects at Kaplan, and has a keen interest in the financial education sector.
